New GAP IID, installation problem
Hi all,
Just bought a GAP IID BT and am trying to install/activate it on my Disco4 using a Samsung tablet. All went well until the programme asked for an activation code which I don't have. So I have got the ignition on, GAP plugged in and connected to my tablet. Going through the set-up it now says "activate the unlock screen" to retrieve your code.
Sorry if I sound thick but where is this unlock screen ? I have scrolled through all the options on the dashboard instrument panel menu (and owners handbook) but nowhere is there any mention of it.
Any help much appreciated.
PS. I e-mailed GAP-Diagnostic but they are on holiday until Jan 10th !!! Wish I worked for a company like that.

Have you followed the set up instructions in the manual?
Theres a wee bit to do before you actually connect it to the socket in the motor
When you get the unlock code you need to supply that to GAP and then they supply you with a code

Not all the info we need for help..
So… Did you bought it brand new or used?
For the later you need to transfer it first to get a activation code, since they are VIN specific…
and for the first (brand new), just follow the manual that came with the new IID.. to get it activated…
It should also be on their website (the manual)Best regards

New GAP IID, installation problem
Thanks for your replies but I am still getting nowhere.
Just to confirm, it is a brand new product and I have downloaded and printed the manual from their website. I am now on page 38 and got to the stage where I obtain the activation code by going to the car, turning ignition on (with radio off), connect the tool, and "access the unlock screen" to get the 10 digit code. Where is the unlock screen? How do I get to the unlock screen? I am now tearing my hair out.

New GAP IID, installation problem
Problem now solved at last with the help of my son and son in-law. None of us could get the device to work with a Tablet or Laptop as I first intended and would prefer. We had to download the app onto a mobile phone but at least it is working.
Thanks Motolab and Sea Raider for your help.

It will not work on a Laptop, it will work on your Samsung tablet though. Once you have it in the pairing list open the App and tap "search for tool" A window will pop up with IID BT on it, tap IID BT in that window and go from there. yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ
