New EU SatNav DVD YIW500260

It's finally here, the new European SatNav DVD!

The part number is YIW500260

This became available to order direct from Navteq (www.navigation.com) sometime today, as well as a new update for the Freelander 2.

The price from Navteq is €199 + VAT.

Have asked Nick (and my local LR dealer) to check the LR price and availability, so should hopefully have some more information. Will be trying to get this asap! Smile

For those of you that can't wait and would rather blow £149 now rather than wait to see what Nick can do them at.. http://www.navigation.com/landroverwebstore

other than updated maps, is there any other features/changes etc? ie, is it like the FL2 interface (currently running XXX200 version that has input on the move)

No previous DVD has introduced obvious feature changes (YIW500200 and YIW500250 had software updates for the nav system but I never noticed anything different) so I see no reason why this one would. If you've had the destination entry on the move update it will still work with the new map DVD. The maps on YIW500200 and YIW500250 are 2 years old at this stage, and only covered half of Ireland in full detail whereas the new one will have full coverage of Ireland. Not sure if any other European country has been added or improved, as Navteq have yet to publish the map showing the coverage of the new DVD.

The FL2 uses a different system and has a different map DVD.

Nick will be selling the new DVDs for £117 + delivery

He doesn't have them in stock yet, though will be ordering a number of them tomorrow so should hopefully have them soon.

DD, there is still a huge amount of changes to the UK data - updated routing info (so it makes more sensible choices when navigating), new roads, and updated info about road status, e.g. one way streets. Spain also seems to have full coverage, which wasn't the case before.

mmmm, looks like a trip to see Nick then, as still need mine re-programming to 'sat nav on the move', despite the local stealers having mine for a full day, doing the uploads and not managing to get it to work Evil or Very Mad

It all went quite smoothly, actually - put the DVD in, a 5-minute please wait... Updating... and then Done!
There were no road changes near to where I live, so couldn't see if that improved, but I did notice the TMC is more 'active' Thumbs Up

I'll have one too Nick when you get them in. My old 2004 disc really showed it's age when in France on holiday just 2 short weeks ago. Loads of roads and new roundaboust it didn't know about - hopefully the new one will be much more up to date! It might even know about the 'new' Wetherby A1(M) bypass (that's only been open for the past 3 years at least!!!) but I shan't hold my breathe
Now an ex-D3 owner after 7 happy years. Miss the car but not the big bills Smile
