New EPB module

Hi folks
The EPB module failed recently on our Disco 4 (MY2012). I ordered a replacement from fleabay and our trusted mobile mechanic fitted it. However, whilst the EPB holds the car on a gradient in N, it does not hold the car in D as it should. It also does not automatically release when stationary nad moving off in D.
Our mechanic has suggested that he could slightly tighten the brake shoes, although he is wary of over tightening as it could stop the gears in the module fully retracting and that is what ruins them.
Do others have experience of this adjustment makking a difference ?
I'm thinking we may need to bite the bullet and just order the original LR part which can be had a for a shade under £800.
TIA

Good morning,

I understand that there is a little unusual calibration/bedding-in procedure, is your mobile mechanic privy to this and did he follow it? I'm not certain that it will help with your issues but in my mind I think it may help both the electrical/mechanical components calibrate and adjust accordingly.

I do not have a tutorial on hand though I think it is fairly well-known and published elsewhere online.
 All the best,
Austin

Thanks Austin - and apologies for not acknowledging your reply. Yes our mechanic has now been back to attmept the calibration. The EPB is functioning intermittently (long story cut short) and he thinks it's a software issue in the replacement module.
I think we now need to bite the bullet and pgo for an original LR part as i mention in my post.
I'll look at Britpart and lrparts - does anyone have experience of either other suppliers of the original LR part or of a replacement (non-LR) which has worked well ?
Thanks
