New Disco and Greenpeace

Well, I finally decided to buy a disco. I have bought a 54(Jan 05) SE auto in silver ex demonstrator. Got it for £34995 which I though a good price. Went back to dealer today to sign some documents before I get the car on Monday and it was being picketed by Greenpeace. Have these sad individuals nothing better to do with there time? I live in York and the amount of people flying in by helicopter to royal ascot this week is huge yet they decide to pick on a Land Rover dealership on what most be one of their quietest weekends of the whole year. What gets me is do these people not realize the damage they themselves could cause if they succeed in banning 4x4's just look at rover how many lost there jobs there!

They are just a bunch of sad no hopers. They need to get a grip with the facts.

Its a fact that you would have to drive a Disco 3 TDV6 for 37 years non stop to produce the same amount of CO2 that is emmitted from a 747 on just one return trans-atlantic tripfrom London to New York.

Greenpeace and all the enviro protest groups need to get this whole global warming thing into perspective, and leave us alone.

Anyway, if global warming is going to give us more days like today, then lets go for it.

How can they be called 'greenpeace' when they are very environmentally unfriendly using their ships, planes and outboards etc of which all are more unfriendly than the Landy and they are aggressive when carrying out their so called good deed protests, when lives are often at risk whether their own or others Confused beats me. Still we have said a lot in another posting earlier. Live and let live thats me Very Happy

mmm... and just think about all the energy and greenpeace... oops I meant greenhouse of course... gasses were produced keeping several balls of snow frozen between Scotland and London.

What a complete Censored waste of time and energy. Could have driven my DISCO3 for weeks to match that !!

Needless to say, I have written to GP and mentioned their errors. Lets see what they say. B****y cheek. Evil or Very Mad I also sent the pictures to remind them that 'people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones'. Confused If that was not bad enough, on their e-mail page they have a picture of the flippin ship. What hypocrits. Not that it will do an atom (sorry about the pun) of good. Maybe we should hang on to their ships anchor, sod it got better things to do, like drive my D3. Very Happy

Maybe we should all convoy down the motorway and picket their headquarters with some appropriate banners ??

Point out the facts about 4x4 numbers and ownership.

Like saying all the DISCO3's you see here produce far less emissions than their one ship and not forgetting... their numerous dinghies.

No way Simon, we may upset Greenpeace and they may throw that great big snow ball at us Twisted Evil .

By the way, you live in farmer land, does that trailer look 'overloaded' with the 2 tonne or more snow ball? Boy would I love to work that one out, any mathmaticians on board? It must be about 6 foot diameter.

Did health and Safety become involved in case it rolled out of control. As usual, I could go on all day.

Can any one grab a screen of it and send it to me, I am no good at that sort of thing?
