New here with D4 HSE
Just saying hi, totally new to all things Land Rover / SUV / 4x4 and purchased on something of a whim after trying (unsuccessfully) to hire something that will tow my boat! First mod already ordered in the form of side steps (ok not much of a mod but it’s a start). Looking forward to learning more on this forum!
2013 HSE, still trying to work out exact colour.

Nothing special, Palomino 24. Perkins engine. Had 3 fun years with her on the Thames but now relocating to the Cotswolds so going to get her out, do some work on her and then maybe look for a mooring on the Avon. Add in the VW camper vans and other assorted projects and I’m sure the Disco will be earning its keep lugging stuff around! These are the only 2 pics of the boat I have handy.

Can never have enough boats!
We had to rethink the whole storage thing this year with the pox going around, usually wintered at a marina on the Isle of Bute but due to lockdown earlier we wasted half the season as the ferry company refused to take non islanders across so had no way of retrieving the boat.
So completely redesigned the front garden and put in a drive to allow storage at home and then had the added cost of a trailer but means can work on the boat over the winter and be ready for the start of the season, I'm only 200 yards away from our mooring as well.
We had a group buy earlier for a front tow bar and it makes all the difference manoeuvring the trailer, far easier than reversing

Oooh I like the idea of a front towbar, i presume it has to be removable for safety / pedestrian protection reasons?
Also, what suspension / traction settings would you reckon for pulling a cruiser out of the water on its trailer on a slipway? Average incline (by slipway standards) but obviously rather wet (and covered in goose droppings!(2013 D4

Mine is pretty heavy for towing, around 3 tonne ( on the trailer) when I used to pull up the slip way ( which is a fairly steep one) on my old D2 I would select low range, it did the job.
Since getting the D3, I’ve only pulled it once so far, but did the same and selected low range, it literally didn’t know it was there!
That said, I would also be interested to know if there is a better option? It was a dfreshly cleaned slip though so no slip.. loss of traction that is. 2005 Disco3 HSE Auto 😁

what are these slips you speak of?
I launch and recover over the shore of a sea loch which is loose stone and seaweed.
I cheat on recovery and use the local farmer and his large tractor but on launch use the Discovery but make sure its no where near the salt water.
I recovered a visitor on Christmas Eve who was launching a boat from the shore using a hire van, van could not get back up onto the hard and was stuck fast, pulled his trailer to safety as well.
We were out this morning as we had the same lockdown breaker who didn't take note of the storm last night, left his pride and joy tied too tightly to our pontoon, boat filled with water and turned turtle, we recovered it for his this morning and he left with his tail between his legs.

The actual colour of your car should be on a label on the front panel above the headlight.
