United Kingdom 2005 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Manual Keswick GreenDiscovery 3
New D3 owner

Hello,
Purchased my first D3 a few months ago and think I had a reasonable deal.
The vehicle I purchased is an October 2004 built 2.7d manual SE 198k, Has all options fitted as far as I can tell minus the sunroof and auto box.
Will check for the locking diff this weekend but unsure if they where fitted on early vehicles.
Colour is Tonga green I think it’s growing on me still.
What attracted me to this particular vehicle was the fact it still had Pirelli Scorpion Zeros fitted all round and had been in main dealer until 2016 with a good service history.
Body work etc is in good condition etc,
Price was just £2000 which I didn’t think was to bad as it did need a few jobs.
So far I have fitted a new AMP to get the sound back,
Have removed my lower wishbones that weren’t seized so only took a little over an hour to get them off,
Carrying out a major service as I type this and a cam belt change.
I am curious to see which type of oil pump I have fitted imagine it’s the early type still so if that is the case the later type will be fitted.
If anyone has any tips for the crank oil seal please let me know, Or the tools they wish to sell.
Look forward to posting in the future and your replies
Thanks
Scott

Congrats on the purchase, that's a keen price, hopefully you got a bargain and it will serve you well.

Plenty of info on here about changing the crank oil seal, apparently genuine is the way to go, but do a search and it's all there in plenty of detail.

If you don't have one already, spend some of the cash you saved on the purchase price on a GAP IID tool, worth every penny and will save you a fortune in the long run. They also sell for good money, so you won't lose out.

Enjoy
