New Clutch..?

Hi all,

In my last posts I talked about a very broken engine (yes the crank). Since then I've come to an amicable arrangement with LR (the advice about building relationships with LRCS was spot on) to pop in a new engine but I'm wondering if there is more I should be considering.

When the new engine goes in next week, would it be sensible to replace the clutch..?

The car has done 57k miles so it might be a good idea..?

..and, is there anything else that I ought to be thinking about (apart from the expense Crying or Very sad )

Confused Mate did have an early D4 commercial which was the 2.7 engine and identical in every way to a D3 other than cosmetically - it was a manual, OP says he has an auto 3.0L, didn't think they made them in manual either Confused

Perhaps I'm having a senior moment but an auto still has a clutch plate doesn't it..?

The car is an auto..

Nope! The clutches are all oil operated inside the gearbox, not individually replaceable easily.

I'm amazed at Mikey's reply too....... Whistle Stew,

2010 D4 gone but I really loved it
Went back to Merc - C350 AMG

Very Happy Mikeys a busy guy, his reply suggests he thought the OP had a manual as he mentions a DPF too - misread post I suspect - I'm the worlds worst! Embarassed
