New case ignition key

Hi,

I'd like to change the case of my ignition key for a new one due to heavy use by the previous owner. The key itself works fine, it's just that the black case is not as nice as I would like it to be. Many thanks for your help - Dick

Two points:
The case (or fob) is sold as a sealed unit only and you'll need the skills, patience and probably tools of a micro surgeon to open two neatly to swap the internals.
You'd find it easier to contact BigDave to ask if he's a spare fob for sale, and then negotiate with your dealer (or anyone with AutoLogic etc) to pair the new fob with the car; the blade swap is a 30 second job.

If it's just the rubber panel over the buttons, you should be able to peel this off & swap with the part from a spare fob; I'd offer, but I sent my old one to another forum member so that he could do such - there's a thread here by him on this.

There is a tiny roll pin at the base of the key blade, near the pivot point. Press the roll pin out to remove the key.
