Finally ordered my Discovery yesterday. Bought a pile of accesories too, but couldn't bring myself to buy the load restraint.
It's too big and clumsy for general weight use.
I something for the dog and occasional lightweight load carrying.
Does no-one do a roller blind type system, or even a clip up net?
On another accessory subject has anyone ever bought the tow bar stowage pack at £70+ ?.
I did, but only after beating the dealer down to £15 at the end of the deal.
I get annoyed at things that should be included being extra (like floor mats)
By the way, after buying two two TD6 Range Rovers from the same dealer, over 4 years, I'm moving dealer. The other local dealer bettered their trade-in offer by ~ £2000.
So much for dealer loyalty paying off. . . . Ron Dunbar

Disappointing - it could be that dealer#2 is close to a rebate threshold for sales and is therefore keener to do a deal. I just found out that the sales guy at the local dealer (who failed to get my order) is well-known amongst the staff at that outlet for poor negotiation - so it came down to who picked up the 'phone when I called.
Can't help on the guard - I guess it's a bit earlier still for after-market gear. Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana

Ron,
I was told that the towbar stowage wasn't available yet and that it is only going to be a bit of foam when it is released.
When you get it can you confirm how good it is?
I currently wrap my towbar in bubble wrap and stick it in the passenger side boot stowage area and this seems to work fine.

I don't know about aftermarket options, but I really love the LR Genuine dog guard. It's heavy, yes, and I certainly don't take it in and out much (you have to fold the 2nd row seats to get it out, just kindof a pain)... But it works beautifully for the dog and after packing the boot to the roof last week for a holiday trip, I felt secure no untoward projectiles would come into the passenger compartment if I had to brake suddenly. I did, in fact, have to brake hard once... And my fibreglass skimboard could have been a decapitator had that guard not been on. I don't like fabric roll-ups for this reason.
And aftermarket guards usually use tension to mount which ruin the headliner...
The genuine one doesn't rattle, either.

Ron,
I've found the best solution for dogs in cars is to use a dog bag (http://www.dog-bag.co.uk/). It keeps the dirt and hairs contained and allows you to use the rest of the boot of other things at the same time. Dogs love 'em too. We takes ours inside each time and she sleeps in it inside the house.
