I'm sure this question has been asked before so please bear with me. My D3 had replacement discs and pads at about 40,000 miles by the previous owner. It has now done 86,000 miles and I'm getting a little juddering on initial application of the brakes from about 45 mph upwards. It eases off with more pedal pressure. I understand that this can be an issue with the Disco. So, after all that explanation, what would those of you 'in the know' recommend I fit to my D3 with OEM 18" wheels?
Many thanks in anticipation of your replies. 2007 Disco3 2.7 tdv6 SE

Possibly. Juddering brakes are normally associated with sticking calipers or sliders, though. Could be any combination of those things.
I highly recommend the V8 upgrade if you haven't done it already. Only parts you need to replace are the caliper carrier brackets and the discs. Pads and calipers remain the same. If you're replacing discs, it's a good time to do it.

Thanks for that. Where did I get the idea that the V8 conversion wouldn't fit with 18" wheels? Or is that for the Brembo conversion? 2007 Disco3 2.7 tdv6 SE

Brembo needs min. 19" wheels IIRC (if not 20"?). V8 requires min. 18" wheels.
Everything you need is here: http://www.advancedfactors.co.uk/1-front-brakes-440-c.asp
Lots of choice there ranging from a Borg & Beck kit at £190 up to £268 for a Brembo kit. If upgrading to V8, make sure you upgrade the front before the rear.

Many thanks for the info Steve, much appreciated. Looks as if I should do the lower arms and the V8 upgrade as I intend keeping the old girl for some time, unless I come up on the lottery of course. 2007 Disco3 2.7 tdv6 SE

And if you're replacing the front lower arms, probably also worth doing the steering arms and track rod ends at the same time. Then you only need to get a four wheel alignment done once.
Where does it end?

I have had a wobble with my 4 pots, over 4 sets of discs, as well as the same wobble with the 6 pots, I'm fairly certain my wobble is down to worn lower arms, which have started knocking recently My D3 Build Thread
