Need help - which EGR (L/R) needs replacing?

So I go the dreaded EGR - can't blank as it's a MY08 with DPF, AFAIK.

I was wondering if someone can help me identify which EGR it is?

Based on the Code P045 - 6C Exhaust gas recirculation B control unit, I am guessing it's the "B" Bank so left hand side. Got some results from the IIDTool - see below.

As always, thanks in advance for your suggestions.

You guess correctly. Thumbs Up

A or 0 is right, B or 1 is left (as sitting in the car).

The left hand one is the harder one to get at. Evil or Very Mad

Should I go for a OM or replacement such as Valeo/Britpart for this?

So I've finally found some time to dig in and replace the EGR. All went well until one of the long bolts decided to travel downward in the engine bay. I've removed the skidplates, hoping that it ended up there...it didn't, so the search continues, if need be I'll go with two bolts to LR to pickup a spare Smile

While I wait for the sun to rise again, is there anyways to clean the gunk from these parts? (see pic below) More importantly should I?

Your bolt will likely be sat on the engine mount (which you can't see) or buried in behind the turbo pipework

Thanks - I'll have to reach in with my hand. Magnetic tool is useless unless you point it right where it needs to go, otherwise it sticks to the block.

After many hours and two replaced bolts - the original two went MIA during assembly - I managed to put everything together.

Not all is right yet:

- Unfortunatley I'm still getting ESF on the display
- I've got the following error in "pending" using the IIDT:

(Engine TDV6
P0407-21 (25) Exhaust gas recirculation sensor B circuit low - General signal failure - signal amplitude<minimum)

- No check engine light
- Car seems to run OK
- EGR's performing OK.

Any thoughts?

What diagnostic software are those screenshots from?
It looks like its iphone based and I'm looking for a LR specific diagnostic software for my 2015 LR D4 (SDv6).
If anyone can recommend something it would be appreciated.

Thanks.
