Nanocom Evo upgrade V1.24 released

Hi Guys,

I am very happy to announce that we have just released another upgrade for the Nanocom Evolution, Version 1.24.

Although there are some other changes, the ones incorporated in this release for CAN-Vehicles in General are:

• Dynamic Menu - The menu options provided after the Vehicle Detect are now dependent on the vehicle connected. This means you will only get the options applicable to your vehicle.

• Improved Vehicle Detect - The "Vehicle Detect" function will now automatically save the VIN number of the vehicle you are connected to. From this point on, each time the Nanocom is connected to a vehicle and required to perform the "Vehicle Detect" function, it will initially read and compare against stored VIN. If it matches, the Nanocom will bypass the "Vehicle Detect". If the VIN does not match the previously stored VIN, the "Vehicle Detect" will continue, complete, and the new VIN will be stored.

• Instrumentation Mode, Page 2 - All CAN vehicles currently supported now have a secondary screen in the Instrument mode.

• VIN Check App - New application added to read a series of VIN numbers to help those who run into problems on vehicles with mismatched or non-programmed VIN's, or non-responsive ECU's.

We have also extended the existing coverage of Defenders in respect of the later 2.2 Litre Engine management and included coverage of the CAN BUS ECU's fitted to Defenders within the CAN BUS vehicle functions.

The upgrade itself, and more information can be found on our forums and the nanocom website

Regards

The Blackbox Team

Thanks Karpouzih Thumbs Up

This upgrade has certainly been a long while in coming, and i know many have been waiting patiently, but that it is finally here means you may now need to make upgrading a little more than a one off job on your list Steve Thumbs Up

As some will note, this upgrade is not our simply slapping on additional functionality, and i apologize to those hoping it would, however it clearly refines and improves the core foundation of the system and the self intelligent way in which it works which IMHO is an ever greater step forward.

With the CAN BUS coverage we are developing on the Nanocom Evolution we are really not seeking to provide just another Diagnostic system, but a whole new standard that is self intelligent and sets a completely new standard.

By example, the new Dynamic menuing we have developed and introduced in this upgrade means that you will now only ever get Diagnostic functions provided in the menus that are actually applicable to the connected vehicle specification.

After all a Defender does not have a Park Brake or Air suspension and you can hardly reset Automatic Gearbox Adaptive values on a Manual Gearbox equipped Discovery 3 Whistle

So we had to make it even smarter than it already was, which did indeed take quite some time and effort to achive, debug and get fully working as it now is in the form of the "Dynamic Menu".#
Two simple words but non the less something quite revolutionary and unique.

With the improved Vehicle Detect, we realised that although required for the self intelligence aspect it was becoming a boring and long winded chore. Adding an ability where the system can recognise it is connected to a vehicle it has seen before, which is most often the case and by passing most of the process is an obvious refinement and improvement to this.

Secondary pages in the instrument mode might also seem like our slapping on additional values, however these pages are actually Engine type specific to the connected vehicle and are the first implimentation of the systems intelligent vehicle type detection.

And Yea, we have also included some tools to help those whose vehicles are electronically not quite correct.

I wish i could tell you that the next upgrade, Just days away now will provide load of new features and function, but in all honesty it won't.

Just as we have revised and improved the core foundations of the systems self intelligence, we now have to revise and improve the functionality we have already provided to follow suit.

In the next upgrade systems like the EAS and EPB will get major make overs.

Therafter we will happily add all sorts of new functions and capabilty to this equipment.
