Harry,

Just to clear this up, the fuses that may need removing are the big JCASE style cartridge / link fuses, not the little fuses you describe. These are the high amperage feeds to the CJB/BCM.

No.

I think I read that a flash could be done with fuse 15 or 16 removed, if that's true, why, as a precaution, the fuse isn't removed prior to reflash, thus avoiding the possibility of a 'burnout'.

It cannot be done with the main CJB/BCM power removed. Not sure where you read this.

On an aside, I have been told that the 'cheap' keyfobs on fleabay can be programmed if the horn is disconnected, is this another oddity of the D3 canbus or likely to be untrue.

Whilst I try to avoid the security stuff on open forum this, thankfully, is not true. But if you do think you have stumbled on a security issue it is not a great idea to post it on the forum. We don't want to be a one-stop-shop for recidivists.

From the IID manual:
IID Manual wrote:
Recovery Method:
If a failure occurred and a second attempt is needed, select the function to re-fl ash the BCM and when
the message «Wait for completion message and keep IIDTool connected <+>» is displayed, reconnect
fuse 15 and quickly press the «Speed + / Menu up» button to continue. Once the re-fl ashing is completed,
reconnect fuse 16. If it failed on the second attempt also with only fuse 15 installed, try again
with fuse 16 only.

Mr. Green

The key point in the instructions above is that the fuses have to be pushed back in to provide the power. The key message is having the ability to pull them should anything go amiss.

any more group buy deals going?
I loved the Nanocom on my TD5 - does it do height calibration on the D3 as well as all the other functions?

Then theres the i938 and IID tool.....too many options!
Is Nano the best for this mod-range price of tools, MSV is too much for a chap who has just purchased the D3 Smile
 Best Regards
