tried part of the route in a recent LRO mag feature. some you wouldn't want to use if you're precious about the paintwork, but the Ford near Bramshill was good for a laugh!!!! Laughing

That's a different ford I believe, in Newbury. Wouldn't want to go near most fords round here in a D3 when they're like they are at the moment let alone a Yaris.
The one near Lands End pub is renowned for cars floating off down the river.

been through there many times myself, (obviously not to actually get anywhere just for the sake of it) it's tragic and very sad but completely avoidable as there is reasonable signage and it was also 9 o'clock in the morning. The local guy in the story has been quite vocal about it for quite a long time, I imagine the regular incidents of people thinking 'it doesn't look that deep the depth gauge must be wrong' and then discovering that it might be telling the truth is quite frustrating....

I've had some fun there myself but both the one by the New Inn and the Bramshill fords can be deceptive at times - caught me out once Big Cry

Indeed, it surprised me how easily the force of a fast flowing river can shove a great lump like a Disco out of the way!
