Cause mine and many others would already be nearly out of warranty  I'm nearly at 50K miles and would be slightly worried losing out on a years cover 
Free servicing a nice touch but the costs of services so far have been pretty damn low for such a vehicle from a premium brand.
Nice for the city SUV types though who only tootle along to school and back.

In Ireland it's a 3 year/100,000KM warranty.
So, I'll probably end up bringing mine to the North for warranty work in around 18months or so. Purchased it in the UK anyway, so they can't refuse to do warranty work on it within 3 years, and I'm quite often in/near NI anyway. IE - 05 D3 TDV6 HSE - Zambezi Silver
SA - 07 VW Golf TDI - White - Sold!

It might also be related to the fact they even changed the name from Disco to LR3. The reputation here was sooooo bad they had to not only change the name, but back it up with a warranty.
Unfortunately, I have been using that warranty right up to the end.

The UK 3 years unlimited mileage warranty is good, free servicing too would be a nice bonus  The End

Being cynical I reckon that they know that people decide to buy the car and that that free servicing/unlimited mileage warranty would not dramatically influence us as customers

The free servicing would help 'sweeten the deal' though
I think the unlimited mileage is important, a 3 year warranty is useless if you go over the mileage limit in 2 years, luckily that's not an issue in the UK The End

Totally agree that it would sweeten the deal .... but when we decided we needed a 7 seat car there was only one car that I really wanted. Yes we looked at the alternatives but with hindsight I had made up my mind before entering the showroom. Must have something to wanting a Land Rover!

There is also a great deal more competition in the US than over here.
