Mysterious 'BONG'

Driving back from the lakes yesterday after an EPB drama i kept getting a mysterious bong every now and then. There was no warning lights and no message on the display. Confused When it happened again i got the slightest flicker of an amber warning light on the left hand dial. The only display in the area that i know of is the glow plugs warning light. I got swmbo to check the handbook to confirm my thoughts.

We were driving on quite a windy narrow road (Kirkstone pass up to Penrith). There was 3 of us in the car with Bike rack on the Tow Ball with 3 bikes on.

Anyone got any ideas Question Question

Its the DSC kicking in. Were you shifting on a bit? or possibly a low tyre pressure on one wheel.

Could be a fooked level sensor.
In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Ahh, will check the tyre pressures Thumbs Up We were making normal road progress, but with the bikes on the back Hmm.

Andrew I take it the only way to check the level sensor is a visit to the stealers, is there any other tell tale to check that.

Well checked the level sensors on the 4x4 display and they seem ok. All level and moving fine no indication of a problem, checked around the car and the sensors look ok to me but thats not saying much.

Checked the tyre pressures and the rear left was down by 4 PSI Shocked , so am thinking that and a loaded bike rack on the tow bar with the road conditions was at fault. Mind i will keep an eye on that as the bong was quick and whatever was lighting up on the dash was that quick that i didn't cop it.

Thanks guys for the pointers and info. Thumbs Up
