If its any consolation my new 2013 D4 also had this as a problem initially...you really had to slam the door shut. It does help if you push it down with your hand on the rear wiper centre spindle.
I think the problem is caused by the rear tailgate rubbers which being new haven't been squashed into shape properly and obviously hold the tailgate out .. However i'm now pleased to announce that this is no longer an issue... my rubbers are now squashed flat....and my flaps close perfectly....

Are these rubbers similar to the bonnet ones? My last Disco had the bonnet sit at an odd angle until I adjusted them by just giving one of them a couple of turns to level them. Just a thought.

Steve have a look at the latch on the tailgate....there is a shaped single piece that goes round the latch in the door....It needs to be removed to get to the torx screws...its a bit of a pain to re-locate properly, which makes me wonder if they were correctly sited in the first place, causing the issues here ? "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

@Euan - Got that, I thought my suggestion would be too good to be true
It does look like a pain but again, you'd think "Quality control" would be on top of this
