I've had my D4 XS (MY12) for almost a month and for the first time at the weekend I tried to pick up a DAB station. Up till now, I've been mainly using the "normal" radio and the virtual CD changer (which I think is brilliant) but I thought I should try to see if I could pick up any interesting stations on DAB.
However, each time I selected DAB, I got a "no reception" message. I don't know if its a local issue (I'm in Glasgow) but we use a DAB radio in the house with no issues.
Anyone got any ideas what the problem might be ?
Cheers

Probably need to Autotune first and then select the station you want to listen too

Or you can go to the stations list, and pick a station you want to listen to. Once you're listening to it you can then press and hold one of the 1 - 6 buttons on the touch screen to save that station to that slot. That way you get the stations you want in the order you want.

To be honest I am not impressed with the DAB in the D4, it does not give a very clear signal in this part of the country. Normal radio is better to be honest. MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

...but my XK has DAB
....not impresed initially - now I have tuned the system for the area we are its actually far better sound & reception...stereo effect is very bright with really good sound
....the one downside is that interferenve comes over as "loud static" noise..quite disturbing if you are trying to concentrate on driving.
Maybe needs more development from the radio stations....
Will it ever catch on ? BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics

Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

Thanks to Andy and Goat of Mendez - I'll try autotuning or selecting some stations and saving them. I don't have any particular ones I'm desperate to listen to - more interested in just checking it out for quality etc over FM.
Cheers

Even after auto tune, I have no available stations. That's in London, as well as Cambridge.

We are in London and we get a fantastic selection of DAB stations - both in the D4 and indoors on our DAB radio.
So if you can not get anything in London then there must be something wrong with your setup! LR Discovery 4 XS pulling an Airstream 532 Caravan also own (since new) a 1996 MGF

Agreed, there must be a problem with the system itself - Stealers problem I suggest

Happened to me - not sure how i did it, but there is (I think) 3 DAB channel groups numbered DAB 1-3 - make sure you have the right one - I got it back by fannying around with it - but might be easier if you read the manual

OK - just checked, there are 3 DAB settings DAB1-3, displayed on the very top display bar next to the staition name.
At the bottom of the display, there is another soft touch button that toggles the setting described above from DAB1 to 3, mine works on 1 and 3, 'no reception' flashes up in top display bar on DAB 2
Mine in DAB3 - works all over South East, West and North of England
Give it a go - might do the trick

DAB1, DAB2 & DAB3 are just like FM1 & FM2 - groups of 6 buttons to pre-store stations, which one you are on should have no effect on the DAB receivers ability to tune into stations
If the autotune didn't find any stations the only other thing to check is under the DAB "Settings" menu and to make sure that the correct Country has been selected
If thats all ok I stand by my previous post - Fault therefore = Stealer Visit.

Andy - you may be right, but the effect is 'no reception' on the screen if the 'wrong' DAB is selected, bearing in mind the guy hasnt used the DAB before and therefore not pre-stored? - never pre-stored in mine, hence 'no reception'

Took delivery of my new disco today. DAB said no signal, following the routine suggested here cured it though. Thank you. Out of interest if you leave your home county will the system 'track' a national station when on a long journey? I ran a BMW a couple of years ago that required no set up and gave great sound wherever I went no signal issues at all. Serial Depreciation Victim
