I have removed mine before I go for a cat-back, The difference is only at around 1.5-2k rpm zone, you will notice slightly higher exhaust tone, after that rpm it will be like stock exhaust.
My suggestion to you is putting a cat-back, it's not loud at all but have a very nice V8 rumble '05 LR3 HSE V8 - Adriatic Blue - Larini Exhaust System - Lamp Guards - Dual battery system - Hidden 12k winch - Rasta Sump Guard

yeah i was even thinking about an H-pipe, and then flowmaster super44s in the back.
but yeah, i was looking for the low sound, the stock system just lets you hear a small hint of whats behind it

HI
I left the cat removed the mid and 2 rear silencers where the pipe use to go into the mid silencer I build a 68mm y piece and then followed the original route out with 68 mm and no silencer. Sounds like a 8 up to 2500 rpm and then sounds like a "hot" v6 .
"She" accelerates better, fuel consumption has dropped by a liter / 100km this is on a 2007 TDV 6 White LR3 TDV6 2007

over here if we remove the cats you cant pass inspection, its even technically illegal to touch the exhaust system, but nobody pays attention to that
