Just a few suggestions, but have you tried reversing through the puddles?
That way you can keep the front of your car clean ready for when you rejoin the highway
I believe the addition of a "strap-on" deflector similar to the bug shields used in the US of A may also prevent this unsightly soiling.
Long shot - keep driving backwards and forwards through the offending wet stuff until global warrming causes the wet to dry = hey presto, no more mud.
Hope this is of some help.Long succession of Disco's since 2001...
SIII Lightweight - neglected & rusting. Bulkhead, A panels, vent panel & outriggers now disintegrated - Next years project!

I'm not so good at giving advice...may I offer you a sarcastic comment instead?

how about making the bloke that walks in front with the red flag and the bell round his neck (that we'll all soon me forced to have unless there's a revolution in UK) to also carry a battery powered wet-and-dry vacuum cleaner to suck up all the mud out of your way?
Should also prevent 'brown trouser' moments (catching your plus-fours on the dirty door sills of course - what else could I have meant)

But just look what a stirling service we are doing to other 4x4 owners; by drying out the puddles they might have a fighting chance of following us.I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

what about recycling?
stratigically placed guttering and containers could be utilised to catch the offending article.
It could then be bottled and sold on??? 8)

they're only proper muddy puddles if they're made with coke, not that Fairmile pispee nonsense!
anyway DG,the water splashing on your windscreen will be the least of your worries soon when the twit pair in 10 and 11 introduce the next phase of the road charging tax, that will include 'puddle enjoyment tax', which will of course be based on emmissions and the size of grin on the driver's face, captured of course in recognised puddle 'black spots' by special new Splasho cameras....and theeeeennn......???
