Mud Flaps ( Wish I had the dealer fit them) !!!!!!!!
I got some mud flaps at a great price from this forum over 20% discount. Fitting the front pair was a breeze. The leaflet said remove 3 screws as per drawing fit new mud flap and screw back up. That was the easy bit. When it came to the rear pair we were totally baffled. In the drawing it shows the 2 screws to be removed and the fitting to place a 3 screw. A plastic bit is provided for this 3rd screww no problme there. What it did not say was that you have to remove the wheels first, then there is a clip that comes in the packet, can I figure out where this goes. I have had nealry the whole street look at the drawing and the part and no one can figure out what it is and where it should go. I fitted the rear flaps without this part and it seems ok. Has any one else out there managed to do this chinese puzzle. Landrover Discovery 3 TDV6 S 7 seat Automatic

If you were down in Berkshire I'd fit them for you as its easy to do than explain (to dark to take photo) you need a 90deg screwdriver best ones fit on batt drill. All I can suggest is to find a D3 in the area and look at the rear flaps then all will become clear promise

lancsamb hope this pic might make it a bit clearer, you can just see that behind the heat shielding there is another bracket (silver in my photo). The bracket supplied with the rear mudflaps attaches to this at one side and aligns with the bottom hole in the mudflaps.

I recently fitted the flaps to my MY06 discovery and I didn't have heat shielding in the way of the bracket fitting.
I was expecting it as some older thread mentioned bending the shield out of the way, but was pleasantly surprised that I didn't need to bend/reshape anything under the car!!
Might be a difference in model years? PS I managed to fit them without removing the wheels!!

90 degrees screw driver can be made using a rachet set and a hex phillips screw driver head....
They are perfect for under-the-wheel-arch work; ie mud flaps and fitting side steps without having to remove wheelJonhklee

Think you could be right there because mine doesn't appear to have the shield either and its a MY06 presume LR have dispensed with it for whatever reason
Fitting the rear flaps is a bit of a fiddle but can be done with a 90 degree scewdriver 2004 Discovery 3 - gone
