Mud flap fitting....

I've recently bought a set of OEM mudflaps. The items are good quality and come with all the fittings and instructions. The front ones were simple to fit but the rears are a bit of a puzzle as the instructions do not make it clear how or where the brackets (supplied) fit. The instructions may just have well been in Chinese for all the help they are - thinking about it, they may well be in the future!!!!

The Transformer has been very helpful as he has also fitted these 'flaps. However, like me, he could not work out where the brackets fit. I have ended up not using the brackets and have fitted the mudflaps using just three screws. The fit is reasonable and the 'flaps are secure.

I am still intrigued to know how and where the brackets are supposed to fit - can anyone shed any light on this please?!?!

Perhaps this video will help. Its on a D3 and not OEM flaps, but I suspect the bracket positioning is the same.

Just fitted front and rear to my Disco 3, front no problem rear a pain in the xxxx
Once you work out where the bracket fixing goes it is quite straightforward except there is little room between the tyre and the middle screw. To make this easier raise the suspension to its highest setting as this gives a little more space for screwdriver/socket
The you tube video mention in earlier this thread makes it clear how to fit the bracket, once you have done one you will wonder what the problem was!

Still in 2 minds to fit them or not. Had them on the last car but not sure what difference they make beyond reducing the muddy spray a little on the 2 front doors. Not convinced that the rears do anything but at £35 they are not expensive.
