How much over service mileage is allowed?

Hello,

Due the 30K service on our Disco 3 and they can't do it until 7th Jan. We are at minus 320miles at the moment (30,530miles).

How much over before they start getting agitated for warranty issues?

I couldn't find anything in the service book.

Cheers,

Grant

most manufacturers will allow 1000 miles either way without question but best ask the question as we all know how the stealers will use anything in their power to not warrant the vehicle so you have to pay because they dont get as much through the warranty window where as we pay full wack Censored

I e-mailed them and got this as a reply :-

"The minus 250 means you are 250 miles over your due service mileage – it is nothing to do with the warranty."

I wasn't sure this was correct.

Page 9 of the LR select used car warranty booklet I have in front of me here states within one month/500 miles of the interval, whichever comes sooner.
May be different for new cars within the three year period Question

Okay, thanks. It does seem to vary then.

I also had 1000 miles in my head, but I don't know where I go that from, but it is concerning that the 'Select' one states 500 miles! (We have had it since new)

Given it is still so snowy, no way we are not using the disco. Will wait and see.

Cheers,

Grant

Vehicles within the three year manufacturer warranty period do not have to ever be serviced to make a warranty claim. Your dealer is 100% correct as going over the recommended service interval won't affect the warranty on the vehicle.

Extended warranties are different and will have their own clauses se in the terms and conditions.

cheers

Often wondered how they can hide behind vehicle not being serviced. Most parts of the car never get touched by a mechanic, so why should they be affected by the service schedule? Suppose your heated rear window or CD player packed up, how would an overdue oil change have anything remotely to do with that?
