Very aware that there have been many more unhappy persons who would not recommend that company...some very vociferous... Shocked

Wierdly I got distarcted today and came across him in a thread on Piston Heads. I wasted 30mins of my life reading it.

I can't comment on the quality of his work, but I get a distinct impression that he thinks there is a rustproofing industry conspiracy against him. Laughing

Never used him but there is a thread on here I'm sure with pictures showing the air bags covered in the stuff as well as the inside of the wheels worth doing some more investigating

Unless you plan on having your Disco stripped back to the chassis for rustproofing purposes, I'd suggest that you are more likely to contaminate vital sensors than provide any meaningful rustproofing!

Rustmaster did mine and did a brilliant job after I did the same sort of research on the various companies out there.

No sensor isses, no mess, first class

Well worth a look as as mine which was 3 yrs old and 30k was a sorry sight underneath.

Chris at before and after is an amazing chap, he gets very excited when people slate him and of course once people know you bite Mr. Green

But I can remember a thread a couple of years ago where he rustproofed a disco 1 and not many years later the thing rotted out so bad it was unreal, in the end Chris paid for the welding repairs.
Theres so much bad press about him you would simply be mad to go anywhere near him.
I also remember another thread where it turned out he only dealt in cash, no cheques, no cards only cash.
I once asked him how much waxoyl he used on a typical land rover wax job and he reckoned 25 litres, if you have ever waxed a land rover you know thats at least twice what you need to do the job.

What you have to bare in mind is waxoyl is very old hat in the chassis waxing game, google the following
Morris Ankor wax
Bilt Hamber
Dinitrol
The last two come in large aerosol cans so can be done by yourself at a massive cost saving.

wow Shocked that's all I can say lads, aswell as a thankyou for the feedback(and for saving me the well earned beer tokens Whistle ), nievely I suppose because of over the years seeing his adverts in the magazines naturally thought he was the guy for the job, only last week I was reading one of his adverts and like what has already been said he was making the statement of people copying his work and reputation Rolling with laughter , WTF's that all about Rolling Eyes , as much as I ddidnt want to spend out that sort of money, I was prepared to because I thought from what I could see and read it would of been a top job, so thankyou lads Thumbs Up

IAWA 4x4 are based in the town of Wellongborough, about 15 miles away from me.

They advertise this - http://iawaclassicsand4x4.co.uk/Rustproofing---Waxoyling.php

I have never used them personally, but they appear to get good feedback. I see that they still use waxoil but maybe you could ask them to quote you for Ditrinol?

Jim

I used him once, had to return a week later for him to have another go (as most of it fell off on the way home). The premises were a H&S and environmental nightmare. I would rather leave my car to the elements than subject it to his work.

I have treated my last 2 discovery's myself ,made 4 wood ramps , it's time consuming and a little messy, . I cover all the parts that I don' t want treated . I use a spray and brush . My neighbor bought my d2 , 13years old last year still all sound underside . I have almost finished my d4, just waiting for the weather to warm up ,hopefully next weekend to finish the job. Very Happy
