I have betrayed you all!!!!!
At around 2pm this afternoon I put down a deposit on a RRS HSE Have to confirm spec by COP Tuesday - car goes into build Wednesday - no delivery date confirmed however will be before end of March (date to be confirmed in next 2 weeks)
Going for; Bonatti, Privacy Glass, PTI with Ivory leather........
Incidentaly, got the D3 back from Switzerland yesterday evening - started out in Sarnen (1hr 30mins south of Basel) at 7am local time and pulled back on the drive in Yorkshire bang on 6pm yesterday evening.......870miles in 12 hours dead!!!!!!! (with the support of Road Angel ) The nice people at euro tunnel moved us onto an earlier train at no extra cost, which when you consider the difference in price for fixed versus flexible ticket was fantastic.....
The car was absolutely fantastic - 5.5 tanks of diesel and 10 litres of screen wash got us there and back. All 4 occupants got out of the car without a single aching muscle both ways (although I did have a touch of the Gran Turismo playstation look about me by the time I fell out of the car onto the drive!!!!!!! )
We had 2 additional people join us out there for the week - 6 of the 7 seats were in use daily whilst carrying 4 sets of ski's and 2 snowbaords INSIDE!!! (the 2nd row passenger on the passenger side did however have to bend down in the seat a little to avoid decapetation by snowbaord!)
A further 15 people turned up on Wednesday night in various hire cars picked up from Zurich - everyone wanted into the D3!!!!!!
My reason for moving to the Dark Side?
Simple, want something a little more car like (next years Ski trip will require me to loose a friend and gain roof rails & sports box, but hey!!!!) and we simply don't utilise the space, seating or off road capabilities on a regular enough basis.
If I could afford to keep both I would!!!!!!! - the D3 is an amazing piece of kit
Martin - would you be able to set up my current username and password for RRS.co.uk??
(would still like to be an honary member of D3.co.uk if no one minds?!?!?!)

RRS is a D3 with a bling coat on so we'll let you off!
I'll be keeping an eye on you over there and remember that you have to wear shades as everything is so shiny

I must admit that it seems to be more about hair products than axle grease over there
If you are one of my new RRS friends the above was obviously said in jest; I never liked that D3 lot anyway. Would you recommend hair wax or gel? Also, can you get internaly reflective glass so that I may be able to see how good I look whilst driving?
Those D3 drivers have no style you know....... 8)
BN, would a RRS be welcome on the next outing? (although I have speced it with, yes, you guessed it - ROAD TYRES!)

ST - a wise choice. Now you need to find out where to source your drugs. I for one look forward to your imput on RRSport. Don't forget you are now a member of a more exclusive club where we behave! Loving the power of the TDV8!
