hi going to stick my penny's worth in this, you would be better, if you have a blue badge and qualify for the VAT relief (as i do) buying it your self. do the maths, and you will see you have an asset worth something when you choose to change, as opposed to spending a chunk and having nothing. Cheers

The beauty of motobility is all you have to do is put fuel in, everything else literally is included.
As for lump sum up fronts check the motorbility pages there's lost of cars on there with up front payments on.

Dave, if you qualify for it then don't be worried about it. The amount of times I'vehad filthy looks off people when I've parked in a disabled bay, especially in the D4. Right up until I get the wheelchair out and into it. Some people are too narrow minded fella ! Not your problem My17 Volvo XC90 Inscription

I almost got an Evoque on Motorbility for the wife but did not want to wait for the delayed delivery, seem to think the deposit was going to be about £8-9k, the Disco 4 was £12-15k depending on spec.
She ended up getting a nice girly BMW 120d Msport cabriolet which we actually picked up this afternoon at a cost of just over £4k.
Sadly the scheme has just been amended to put a £2k cap on deposit prices so that spells the end for all LR motorbility products since the Freelander started for about £6k.
I have to say that anyone that is entited to the scheme should go for it, we have had one for 12yrs now.

Is this some sort of joke
Taxpayer providing £45k+ of cars free wtf ?
I'm totally not against anyone with a disability being helped but a 45k landy is a pi$$ take. Surely the gov can negotiate with a car manufacturer to provide a basic £10k max eurobox as cheaply as possible to the taxpayer ?
So how does this scheme work exactly, you put down a deposit get free motoring and then keep the car ?

I cant believe LR would pump out disco4's for £200 a month when they are 3 times that to lease not counting insurance, servicing and tyres. Unless they are being charitable of course!
Sounds like an incredible deal!

You come out with some ill informed statements without even knowing how the scheme works

LR are not giving D4's away for £200 per month, if you take into account the £12k up front payment for a D4 and then the £200 per month from the higher rate mobility over 3 years the disabled person is paying £19,200 for the use of the car over 3 years. At the end of 3 years you have to hand the car back and you get nothing back just like a normal lease agreement. So in effect over the 3 year period the disabled person is paying £533.33 per month for the privilege. Cheers Ian
