It will fail if the system is 'missing' or 'faulty'.

I know this as I am in dispute with Lookers over the gaffs minibus which they supplied in 2016 ....I found out at a recent service that the fault in the TPMS that we were told just needed a reset was caused by the fact that it was found that none of the wheels had TPMS sensors fitted. This issue has compromised our insurance cover and the bus is off the road until it is resolved.

They really have got to get this sorted for you, it's a safety issue and as such needs to be taken seriously by them.

Not sure how much of a safety issue it is, only the newest have TPMS and the older cars aren’t dangerous. However, if it is an MOT failure, then it could leave a reason for your insurer to not to pay out in full.

It’s the same as any safety feature, in that it’s taken into account by insurers. It’s not a case of the older Discovery’s being dangerous, more the newer ones being safer. Thumbs Up

Could be interesting, has to be if it’s fitted Question
Only way quickly to tell is if TPMS Valves are fitted, all good except what it you have fitted a spare set of rims with TPMS Valves on but the actual system isn’t fittted on the vehicle.
MY13 that I had wasn’t fitted with TPMS, registered Nov 2012.
Could be some irate owners at MOT time.
