Morocco in March

Anyone able to tell me if a week's holiday in Morocco in mid March is a terrible idea, or brilliant, or what. Weather, swarms of flies, swarms of Brits, or whatever. Or whatever.

SWMBO much inclined to the idea. Happy to indulge if no obvious disasters.

Thank you to anyone who might be able to inform a decision.

Where in Morocco were you thinking? And via which route? We used to surf quite alot along the Agadir/Tagazhout coast.. Weather great at that time of year 👍👌 Have you been before? Few things to watch out for in morocco... S##ts is one of them! Plus the vomiting... Oh the 🤮.... We go as a family and each and every one of us has caught the bug at some stage🙈 just take plenty of hand sanitizer and put it on everything!!... Really!..

I’ve been in October and again in August. October for us was ok, not too hot and mostly dry. The chaps that went October the previous year got flooded out in the desert!

In August, it was extremely hot, so I guess March will be somewhere in between.

We avoided all local food and lived off ration packs and bottled water. No squits for me.

We're heading to Erg Chebbi and then across to Marrakesh in early April, but we're leaving the UK in March. Ferry to Santander then overnight at Algeciras before entering Morocco.

No lettuce etc. unless you wash it in bottled water yourself first.

And NO icecubes in your drinks

Having said that, when we went in 2010 we had some great food prepared at the Auberge's that we stayed in, and as far as I'm aware nobody had any 'serious' issues!

Travelled extensively with the kids as F.I.L. lives out there for part of the year. Never had any issues re food etc & eaten mostly where the locals do.
Essaouira is worth a visit (windy though) stunning old city on the coast, some of GOT filmed there in the old Medina.
Fez (Medina) is fascinating but you do need a guide.’
Oualidia a good overnight stay on the coast, cracking little beach on a lagoon but not much else there. Same can be said of Moulay Bousselham (further North).
Chefchaouen lovely & nice to stay as is El Jena on the Med coast.
The mountain road that passes through Ketama (heart of kif/hash growing country is stunning but you do get hassled to buy dope & Ketama itself is a Censored hole that feels very oppressive.
Marrakesh is an amazing place, Jemaa el-Fnaa (main square) is the hub & really comes alive at night, lots of small ‘medinas’ just off it. Wander round early eve then have a bite to eat in one of the many terrace restaurants & just watch. You can see all it has to offer in a couple of days.
The best thing about Agadir is the road out of it, the old city was flattened years ago during an Earthquake, if bland soulless concrete is your thing then it’s the place to go, has a ‘closed’ feel to it until late April/May.

Arabic then French are the main languages spoken though a little English is found in the more tourist orientated areas.

Food fairly much the same wherever you go unless heading into one of the hotels which (some) have a European feel with a Moroccan twist.
