I have been meaning to post these pictures for a while. I know the groove in the top of the luggage space cover is for an umbrella and it works fine when it is in the car, but as it is always hanging up in the garage I needed somewhere else for an umbrella. It used to be just Bentleys but now even Skodas have a tucked away umbrella. I made this modification with some plastic waste pipe and am very happy with it.
While I was there I put some leather straps on one of the two useless holes at the back (what are they supposed to be for?) so it can store a picnic blanket.

Great mod! Need to try this, as I'm going to get annoyed from the noise the umbrellas make under the rear seats...
Just one question: can you get the umbrella out while the seats are up or do you have to put them down everytime you want to reach the umbrella...?

Paddy0174 - yes you do have to flip the seat back forward to get at the umbrella but it was the only place on the car I could find. I looked inside the talgate first only to find it suprisingly full of Woofer.
