Out and about in Mid Wales - Puncturemagnet strikes again
D3Steve and I did another little trip out today - or at least I did until I got another puncture. I'd taken a punt and put on some winter tyres to replace the Duratracs punctured a few weeks ago, bridging the gap until my TuffAnt wheels arrive.
A gash in the sidewall led to the tyre coming off the rim. The wheel nuts had been tightened by a rattle-gun.
Wales was so violent when it was being formed, the strata of the rocks are vertical, meaning sharp bits everywhere.
Still, great views and good fun before that!

It's a spare that I keep there for no good reason. The 'real' numberplate is in the usual place but because of the way it hides the winch it's a bit vulnerable.

perhaps it's a sign you should stick to tarmac ? even then, with your record, you probably need a bloke walking ahead of you … with a brush, just to be safe.

I did some lanes in mid Wales in the early 90s, in my classic RR. 1st day I ripped the sidewall of a brand new BFG TracEdge! Those rocks are sharp!Richard

crikey Richard … you're from Norfolk. did you have a nosebleed seeing the hills, let alone driving up them ?

In fact, way back then I lived in Hampshire! Although not best known for mountains, Hampshire sports some hills that are huge compared to Norfolk's undulations!Richard

This is the guy that did Strata Florida on worn winter road tyres and then punctured a tyre on the road section. There's no telling where he'll find a hole. Umm...
