Michelin Syncrone Road Any Good |
|
Has anybody got Michelin Syncrone Road tyres 255/55 R19 111 H rated on their LR3. Its for road only I'm interested in, how do they compare to the Pirelli scorpions? Before a 20% discount the scorpions are £35 per tyre more!
Regards
Chris

I have been running them for the past 40k miles. Very good tyre, very quiet compared to the Goodyear. Very hard wearing. They were OK in the snow too. No complaints.
I am about to change them as they are nearly worn out now. I have bought a set of FFRR wheels with brand new Scorpions, so I will let you know how the Scorps compare to the Synch's in about 18 months
I heard that Synchrones were out of production??

The Synchrone has been discontinued. Latitude takes its place - Latitude Tour, that is. You should still be able to get Synchs though - a very capable tyre.
I would lay a bet now, Gareth, that you will be depressed at the rate of wear on the Scorpions.

Just a note for those who have tried to get 18" Synchrones and they have not been available!
I am on my second set of Scorpions and am totally fed up with the poor wear. Having used Synchrones on previous TD5's where they seemed to last forever, I contacted Michelin to find out why I couldn't get 18" Synchrones and their reply was that the Latitude is be a replacement for the Synchrone and WILL be available in 18" sizes for Disco 3 soon!
I know what I'll be buying next!

I have to admit that for road tyres, Michelins are usually my first choice. The M-Power Express

The Latitude in 18" is widely available already. It is cheaper than the Scorpion too.

You are probably right 8), But life goes on. No point in getting depressed.
