Message Centre not giving any data
Hello new here and this is my first post. I manged to get a great deal on my new to me discovery 3 2005 HSE. I got it cheap because the nearside cam chain had snapped so it was only running on the 3 cylinders in the off side bank. Now the mechanical issues have been sorted I would like to start crossing off other problems that are present mainly electrical.
I have read through the electrical posts about the instrument cluster problems and I cant find my issue there.
So I have included a picture of an instrument cluster and marked in red the area that I'm having issues with. So the centre display screen lights up with the back light but displays no text at all. the other screen where the information for gears is there but nothing at all on the centre one.
When I plug the diagnostics in I do not get any codes relating to an issue with the cluster. Would anyone be able to give me information on what unit in the car sends relevant information to this screen so I can make sure that its connected properly on both ends. I thought maybe the BCM uses this screen but I can communicate with that device without any problems with the diagnostics equipment, only other issue i think that maybe related is the suspension controls don't seem to cycle through properly on the centre console.
You can raise and lower the suspension using the flick switch up and down with no issues and the infotainment screen above the head unit displays its going up and down. But when you turn the round nob it does nothing its lit up and nothing is flashing but it just will not change the terrain mode. Are these two possibly connected

Can anyone give me some help here. Is it a common fault or not? I hear warning noises from the inbuilt speaker but nothing is displaying on the screen. No outside temp no mpg no messages nothing just the backlight is showing.

To change terrane mode the engine needs to be Running
The orange light should lite next to the selected mode after a second.
In snow mode you should notice the accelerator performance dulled.
As for the display. Not common fault. Data will come from the dash.
You could take it apart, first try pressing in the display and see if it works.
Otherwise remove if u can. Clean contacts with ipa and reinstall.
Or send dash away for repair.
Dash contains imboliser, so car won’t move without it or if you damage it

Does look like a cluster issue, speedometer should be on zero. I would check the wiring at the connector and then send the cluster off to be checked and repaired.
