Just don't put the wrong fuel in the generator I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

Yep
Officially not my fault that the hire generator was supplied with a green can of fuel for it (for which i paid extra for the convenience , which turned out to be diesel not petrol. cough, splutter, knackered I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

Lesson there for all of us who hire stuff - sniff the fuel can before you tip it in.....Rob Smith

O.K., So, I fired up the Honda EU20i generator last night...
One note here: The generator comes without any oil in it, so that needed sorting out first!
WOW ... This thing is GOOD
It really is pretty quiet compared to some of the generators i've heard, and the auto throttle feature is brilliant. The revs speed up as the load is increased, so the generator is working only as hard as it actually needs to for the load.
All being well i'll find time today to stick an oscilloscope on the output and see if the sinewave is as pure as Honda say it is. Initial signs are good though, it runs a computer with no problem and some other microprocessor controlled gear I have.
Not the cheapest option, but in this particular case I think it is well worth the bit of extra money.
Thanks again for the recommendation folks, i'm sure this is the start of a beautiful relationship
Cheers

Not surprised that you are pleased - after all Honda defined the small generator, and have stayed at the top of the pack for a long time.
After a couple of hours use on low loads try it on a near capacity load just to make sure that the output is stable - a kettle or something else you can switch instantly is a good test.Rob Smith
