They haven't made a full release yet. The D5 isn't due to North America till mid-2017.

And this is the sales figure in what is not only likely to be the busiest month of the year, but after the dealer's have had a near 6 month run up with virtually no new Discovery 4's to sell and after all the launch hype too.

Interesting but i still yet to see one on the road ,still rare item for me.
And now the new government tax rip off on cars from April 1st, and sadly for me i refuse to pay the higher tax just because it's £40k and for 5 years .

A few black D5s lined up in the site entrance at Hunters. I assumed pre-reg but not yet on the web.

All those figures above are for UK sales only. If you take worldwide sales then obviously the D4 sold shed loads more last March than D5's did this March. I don't think 800 more vehicles for a new roll-out is very impressive, but we won't know the true story for at least three years.2005 D3 HSE 2011 D4 Landmark 2016 D4 HSE Lux

I agree on the three years (or even 12 months is probably representative to measure a launch bump or otherwise), I am not sure the 800 figure really means a lot as most of those would have been pre-launch orders with builds confirmed months earlier to people who in most cases were waiting for the new model for some time. Most dealers didn't even register a demonstrator until 1st of March, and if the intent is to win "conquest" sales then these would not be impacting March numbers. Also seeing very few 2.0's and specs below HSE delivered, and something strange went on with 1st Edition deliveries and tow bars I don't think we are yet seeing anything truly representative (good or bad). Long ordered customer cars didn't start coming out in numbers until at least the second week.
I do find it hard to believe that large scale pre-registration is a big part one way or the other when regardless of size an order book clearly exists that would be fulfilled first. All in all too many factors changing including the tax regime and actual availability to judge.

Disco sport had a slow start and now it's LRs best selling model, first month sales mean nothing in regards to how big a seller it will be.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green
