i would get them to take a look, it doesnt sound right at all. My 06 is manual and I generally get 550+ miles to a tank.

Mine (Auto) does 18-20 mpg... I feel that the only way to get it running at 30 mpg, will be towing it and leaving the engine running at idle speed Very Happy

Although I do not think anything is wrong with the car.... Let's say we would be looking for something wrong, what could it be? Gearbox, tires, kerb weight?

Get them to take a look.

But you dont say what type of journey / driving style. If you thrash is over short distances and sit in traffic for a long time - what your getting would be normal.

Agree, but that is not the case..... I keep highway speeds at max 80 mph using CC and on B-roads set it at 50-55 mph. I can not say that my driving style is harsh... I get 25-26 mpg out of my Volvo S60 T5 for example and I like to press the pedal in that once in a while Smile

I'd give it a good run at the weekend. Zero the trip computer and drive using the torque. 2K revs is a good place to be most of the time. Don't thrash it, there's no benefit.

they do seem to vary a lot.....

my 05 auto was doing about 23/4 for a while. EPB clean out got it back upto its original 26ish.....currently averaging 19mpg on my regular commute (15 miles each way on the motorway).....so something else probably not right!!!!!!!!!
end of an era ....... maybe a Defender when it appears.......

so does the epb stick on slightly. mine does squeal in a morning or when reversing. suppose this would affect the mpg then?

I get around 360 miles to a tank. It was about 320-330 before I had the Torque Tune.

I can get it up to 34-36 mpg (on the trip) if I pretend I'm brain dead Smile
