Major problem with infotainment system on D4 MY12 |
|
Whilst on holiday in France, my Sat Nav, Radio, Bluetooth, Cameras etc all stopped working. I removed the battery connector to do a hard reset, and it didn't work. I even tried a local dealer, but it was a Friday, and he didn’t really want to know, and he did the same, removed the battery connector.
When I got home, my local Dealer looked at the car on an afternoon and said there was a problem with the Audio unit. This was fine, but they couldn’t do it for two weeks!
It went back in this week and they tried various things including replacing the unit, and it still hasn’t resolved the issue, so they need to have it in again as they now think it’s a cable breakage “somewhere between the front and rearâ€. This means they need the car for 4-5 days to strip the interior to get at and hopefully, if Land Rover say so, replace the wiring loom. After them saying they couldn’t do it for a further 3 weeks and me having a bit of a strop, it’s going back in sooner than that, but still not as quick as I would like.
It’s now been 3 weeks of silence in the car (except for when SWMBO is in the car ) and to say I’m frustrated at the amount of time its taking to fix is an understatement, but that may one for Liam to take up if he reads this!
Has anyone else had a similar issue that may help in finding a solution?

Luckily after letting the car sleep the sound came back.
Has your D4 had the camera overlay cables done ? Long shot I know. D4 SDV6 HSE 11MY - Gone

Camera overlay cables? Not sure what you mean here!
The screen works and I can see the options when it starts. I can even set the settings. When I go into reverse, instead of the camera image appearing, it goes blank, and stays like that until the car shuts down. D5 2017 HSE Lux

Hi Nic, I had a similar issue with the reversing camera going to a BSOD.
I'm not sure if this is relevant for your vehicle.
Quote:The recall is to fit filters between the cameras and module to help prevent the blue screen.
This is only for vehicle with surround cameras.
VIN range LA513326 – LA572000

Even though my D4's VIN is not in this range the dealership fitted some overlay cables (I assume they left the other in ??) Since then the cameras have been more stable. D4 SDV6 HSE 11MY - Gone

The car has been in the dealers since Monday, and I picked it up tonight.
They replaced the head unit and amplifier. Still not idea what caused it, but at least its now working. D5 2017 HSE Lux
