Hey Ron, how did you get on with fitting the RAI? I'm guessing you have all the start/stop gubbins in the way like I have on my Landmark. I want to go Safari snorkel but there seems to be a lot in the way.1978 Series 3 88 Military Green (Gone)

The Terrafirma RAI is a bit fiddly to fit as it doesn’t line up the same as the original Mantec RAI (on which it’s based).
There are no issues re the internal bits as it’s only an RAI, but would assume fitting a Snorkel would pose some issues in that area.
Sorry if not of much help, but good luck. ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧
< ‘tis but a mere scratch …….. it’ll polish out.
Thanks Ron, it's getting to the inner wing to cut out a chunk of the body that's my biggest concern. Starting to wonder whether RAI might be enough1978 Series 3 88 Military Green (Gone)

The retro look is great on your D4 ron - and those chequer plate patches make great beer-shelves (lost on the D4 as compared to the D3 bumpers)
I never had painted wheelarches on my two D3's
And I'm not on the New Defender either, with good reason! Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Thanks for the comments chaps.
The sump plate is from Uncle Ray (RLD).
The checker plate bonnet panels were made by myself.
I made a template and cut 3mm checker plate rubber matting (from eBay).
I used 3M automotive tape around the underside perimeter and added some ‘ribs’ across the width and stuck down.
Been on now for 11months and still holding strong.
I do have a set of 5mm that I first made but thought it was a bit thick.
So happy to send FOC to a first dibber (on this thread, not by pm) as long as you cover the courier charge, (UK only).
