LR4 manuals download (+new owner)
Hi all,
I'm the new owner of a second-hand 2012 LR4/Disco4. It's the second Land Rover in the household, next to the mid-80's Defender 110.
I prefer to perform most maintenance on my cars and was very disappointed when I went to the LR "Topx" ( http://topix.landrover.jlrext.com) web site. Unlike the Lotus web site, which took well under an hour to pull down all relevant PDFs, the LR web site is set up with individual HTML files, picture files, PDFs, and a non-hierarchical structure not conducive to simple downloading. Being a stubborn (and cheap) engineer, I decided to dust off my BASH scripting and see what I could do.
I created three sets of scripts: one for the workshop manual sections, one for the electrical reference section (that has some nice diagrams showing where everything is), and one for the electrical wiring diagram section. With these scripts I'm able to download and organize these sections on my local hard drive. I also plan on copying these over to a cheap tablet to use in the workshop.
Is there any interest in these scripts? They run under Linux, but will probably work with Cygwin too - the only really critical pieces are wget and the Firefox plugin cliget. I needed to rebuild wget because of the number of SSL failures I was seeing (I can provide a link to a patch for that). Note that these scripts are not pretty and have several hard-coded file names. They also require you to manually download the index file for each section (trivial to do). However, they are relatively short and should be easy to follow/hack to anyone with a basic understanding of bash shell scripting.
Finally, is anyone else having issues with the Topix/HSBC payment system today? I was unable to pull down all the files in my one-day subscription (mostly because I spent a chunk of that time creating and troubleshooting my scripts), and am trying to buy a second day's. However, I now keep getting "Card Number is incorrect" when I try to pay via the HSBC web site. I've tried three different credit cards on two different machines.
Thanks!
Michael

Hi fellow engineer.
Could you throw the scripts up on github? That way if people have improvements we can just do a pull request to you. I will be ordering a 2013 LR4 HSE Lux soon. (Probably within a week here, im still working on pricing with dealers) I am just like you, I prefer to do (or at least know how to do) most work on my vehicles. I love the way the Infiniti manuals are setup, its just a list of PDFs with one index pdf that links into all of them.
Thanks for putting that together.

Looking forward to such a manual for the D4. The D3 version has been invaluable.

Mike,
Will do. I'm still unable to pay for a day's usage of the site, so I'll be going from memory for some of these, or using some of the "free" sections as an example.

Update: I've created a git repo on https://github.com/ called "LR4-Topix-scripts" and added all the scripts. Scripts are poorly commented. I hope the README isn't too cryptic. These are the scripts I used to create a local copy of the manuals.
For service bulletins I pulled them down one at a time. There wasn't that many and they're scattered. Much easier to pull them one at a time than try to create a script.

Any new updates?
Hi I stumbled upon this thread in my search for an LR4 workshop manual. Were you able to successfully pull down the entire workshop service manual?

I've been swamped under a couple of other things (mostly a 10 month old). Last time I tried downloading there was some credit card issue with the LR web site. Supposedly it's been cleared. I'll have to try again this winter.
Theoretically the scripts should work. Of course we all know how that goes
