LR4 A/C Compressor replacement-do you have to split the body |
|
Hi all,
I recently had my turbos replaced on the D4 3.0 tdv6. I had been having some intermittent issues with the A/C which was on occasion taking a few minutes to start working. I was told that by replacing the solenoid valve on the a/c compressor, the problem would be fixed. This was done and the car was Re-assembled....
Now the a/c doesn’t work at all- just blows ambient temp air.
I have now been told by the garage that it is probably the compressor that has (coincidentally) failed and needs to be replaced... but it a a body-off job to complete (with huge labour cost again).
So, my ask for assistance is as follows:
1. Does it sound right that the compressor is the issue and could have just failed coincidentally?
2. Is it possible to remove the compressor and install a new one without splitting the body off the chassis? - I saw a video on YouTube which seems to indicate it is possible.
Any help would be appreciated thx
