I had warrantywise on my D3, had 6 new injectiors put in by main dealer as they were "diagnosed as faulty", I ended up with a bill for £3k. Then took to DM, we could see a low compression with one cylinder, all wet, and washed out, they didn't pay a bean, also took them several weeks to send an engineer out to inspect and reject.
The only thing I got out of them was my premium money back and the cost of a hire car as their delay forced me into hiring another, and I only got that when I emailed Quentin Wilsoin direct.
I have now put a deposit down on warrantydirect for when my LR warranty finishes in September, £670 for Luxurycare with dealer rates, Euan got even lower, it was just getting to tiring trying to get them down further.  Joined the BMWX5 45e group
