LR testing revised D5 or new Defender?
Read this article this morning https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/cov...t-15111309 appears LR are either testing a revised D5 with central rear number plate or perhaps the new Defender platform. Either way it looks like the mule has a central number plate design.

This exact picture? Article refers to he asymmetrical tailgate design and that this may be an update. Strange that the article would refer to a dated picture in present tense compared to the current design 16 D4 Landmark

Those are two different vehicles. Not just the registration but the disruptive pattern also.
JLR employing subterfuge? We have all seen the Freelander that has a morris marina van on the chassis that is part of the Dunsfold collection.
Why not put a D5 on top of a new deafener for road testing?
Think the new deafener must be the most talked about, anticipated and over hyped vehicle in motoring history..D3 07 SE - still going strong
D3 07 HSE - gone to car heaven
FL1 - gone to Romania
D3 05 HSE - gone to a divorce diet
D1 V8 manual - gone but not forgotten

Yes they are different but they didn't just have one cammo'ed up D5, they had several. They are both registered in the same year at the same time

The video was shot on at 07:40 26/10/2017. The article is dated September 2018.
Both dates, as you know, are some time after the registration dates of the two vehicles in the stills on this thread.
The vehicle in the picture is moving too fast and the light too low to see if it is one of these vehicles.
The stills on this thread have not been captured from the video footage within that article.
As of today - VN65 is taxed (expires November 2018). The other vehicle is SORN.

The car in the video differs from the one they used in the still which is a D5 cammo from 2016...vid could be the 90 defender RRS bodied mule perhaps

IIRC I believe DiscoStu implied that the deafener will be released 2020 with a likely show appearance towards the end of next year?
