LR Roof Box fittting advice please |
|
Just bought a pair of Land Rover crossbars and roofbox and am in the process of fitting them.
The instructions for the roofbox seems to suggest that the rubber strips at the top of both of the crossbars need to be removed before the fixings for the roofbox can be put in place. Before removing these strips though I'd just like to check whether it is necessary. The internationally compliant instructions have no words on them - just pictures.
Could anyone out there who has previously fitted one of these boxes give me any guidance please? The dealer who supplied this was not 100% sure.
Thanks!

Rubber strips need removing - If you use the cross bars without the roof box you will want to put the rubber strips back in as the high pitched noise is annoying Richard......

Thanks for the welcome and the really quick advice: greatly appreciated.
My compliments to all on a fantastic site.
Recently bought an ex-LR HSE for what seemed a bargain price. This is our 4th Disco, following on from a 200Tdi, 300V8i and more recently a TD5. I have been amazed at how much improvement has been made to the latest generation in the TDV6. Still wading through the manuals and looking forward to contributing here.
