| LR ipod ACM kits now available |
|
After a bit calling around on Friday, I got a phone back from one of the dealers who stated that the kits are now available to order.
A call to TLO this morning to confirm and an order placed

are these different to the older ipod kits? Also Gone : MY14 D4 SDV6 HSE : Barolo Black + Almond

No, just the same ones. These are the V2 models which do not come with cradles.
To charge the itouch/iphone you'll need to get the adaptor from apple/ebay

Lets see what/how it turns up, but i beleive that these will be NON 3g/3Gs compatible. As the reason they withdrew is that they were not working too well with these phones.
I do not want to call LR on it till i get them here just incase it's an error and if i flag it with them they could block delivery...i'll call them after wednesday when i have them to see what the crack is
Oh, thank's to jkp for info on re-release, iv'e been checking every week bar last week to see if they were back TLO has left the building.......

V2 works fine with my iPhone 3G, thouight it was just 3GS they had the issue with? Bodsys Brake Bible

some did some didn't !!
according to LR guys they had a few...ummm....tech quires as to their function.
i'm sure 3Gs though is the route cause TLO has left the building.......

Dave, this is part of an email conversation i had
"VPLAE0001 is on restriction due to a software update. Apple are releasing new and updated product at a rate that is difficult to keep pace with. We found that some ipods 'lock up' ie the customers connects the ipod , the ipod plays but does not connect to the vehicle, cycle the ignition and the vehicle connects to the ipod. Clearly this is not acceptable "
Now i am not sure whether these are just released or whether they have had any updates, until wednesday i will not know. TLO has left the building.......

The last software version 3.1.1 for iPhone caused some big (and regular) issues of locking up. They've just released 3.1.2 apparently which is specifically to cure that.
Perhaps it's co-incidence that LR have released at this point? Bodsys Brake Bible

Ah I see. SWMBO has an iphone 3GS. Apple seem to be updating the firmware almost daily for it too, so I can understand the frustration for the guys trying to test it!

The locking issue I get now and again with my Parrot i9200 kit. Also sometime charges and sometimes doesn't 
A simple power cycle sorts it, but albeit a nuisance it ain't a big thing.
Looking forward to getting this fitted after me hols next week

Have you fitted your unit yet? Can you let me know how much they cost and have you tested it with a 3G iphone?
Does it charge the iphone too?
