Hi, Thanks for getting back to me. I have just part exed my fl2 for a Disco and the stealer is giving me a free half day voucher. I had no idea what to expect and was just trawling for what it entailed. Do you get to drive a vehicle of your own choice for example and if the wife is coming with me I assume she will need wellies rather the the normal high heels !

Cheers

What normally happens on any Land Rover Experience is that when you book you will be asked which vehicle you would like to drive from the current line up. The half day usually takes in a road test in the vehicle so the instructor can show you what it's like on the road and then afterwards they will take you round the off road track and then give you, and if she wants your wife, a chance to drive it over the tracks. It's recommended that you wear suitable clothing so personally I would try and steer your wife away from high heels if she is going to drive. If you ask at the start your instructor may cut down on the road test and give you more time on the off road part but it's up to the individual instructor as I think that technically as Land Rover are paying for it they are supposed to follow their format but shy bairns get nowt Thumbs Up

I've been four times and never had to go on the road, they normally ask first. The FFRR is superb! Thumbs Up

Unless you really want to... Just ask the instructor to stay off road, thats really what the experience is all about!

A lot of these sessions are for potential customers and as such, they want you to experience the car both on and off road. When I went for mine I said to the instructor there was no point in doing a road test as I had already driven there in my own D3. We just went off-road Thumbs Up

Depends on the instructor, as they are technically required to do both Whistle

We (me and my wife) had a quick 5 minute drive each on the road, then the rest of the time was off road. We were allowed to take 2 children too.

Do you get a choice or do you have to take whichever they give you and more importantly, do you have to hand them back at the end? Mr. Green

When you ring up to book it say what you want to have a drive in and they will give you the free dates and it's a Censored but they want it back after your session Laughing

Land Rover lay down the format for the 1/2 day Experience and have directed that it includes, a short safety & technology briefing (10 mins), an on-road drive (30-45 mins), demo drive by the instructor (15 mins), client drive for the remainder of the 3 hours.
While the Instructors did have some freedom over the on-road drive, LR have recently reiterated the need to stick to the laid donw format.
Also while you the voucher states you can bring 2 guests with you (3 in total) some Centres will only let you bring one guest if you're in a Freelander or Evoque.

We have just come back at the weekend from being in Scotland, LR Corporate invited us to visit Dunkeld for a Off Road on Road Special Day.

The centre is a little smaller in terms of the building than other LRE sites I have visited, but the staff were all very helpful and the off road part of the site was fun and we enjoyed a total of 2 half day sessions driving the following vehicles;

Defender
Range Rover
Range Rover Sport
Evoque

The format was a little different from the usual Land Rover Experience half day as this was a corporate operations day out and followed a different theme of driving from the normal, but very enjoyable all the same.

On the site there is an excellent clay pigeon shooting school which we had some fun doing in the afternoon.

I would recommend a visit to LRE Dunkeld Scotland.

Regards
T & E
