I’ve got 5 half day LR experiences saved up - new cars. I was going to give the 17 year old who just passed his test a whole day at it and maybe change his yearning for a Mustang to a Disco. I couldn’t find anything about the age restrictions. I phoned up LR Experience, they told me 18, then said 17 was fine. Anyone know for definite what the restrictions are please?

Very true, it’s just going is a 200 mile round trip.
I’d let him drive my D5, me riding shotgun obviously, but I can’t get insurance for him. The Experience sort of circumvents it plus it’s LRs car.

My daughter did one.. it wasn't a proper LR Experience day, but it was run by them near Leicester somewhere..
She was 11!
You may be able to trade your vouchers for this one?

Age restrictions vary from Centre to Centre.
I wouldn't bother with the Start-Off Road 11-17 year old scheme for someone who's already passed his test.
Give your chosen Centre a call beforehand and explain the situation and they should allow a 17 year old with full licence to drive off road but not on road where there is an insurance related age limit.

My 18 year old daughter did the one at the Solihull factory. They asked us which cars she'd be interested in driving, we requested a Disco and a FFRR. They then said they'd check with their insurers and ring me back. A day or so later they confirmed everything was ok. Incidentally she would have only held full license for 6 months at that stage.

Thanks all, that very interesting, particularly LilWolf who’s been in a similar position.
I’ll check with the Dunkeld Centre, but I am still tempted to book him in for a day and let him at it if it’s all okay.

Dunkeld are really flexible. They were going to let me use my own D4 until it decided to go wrong the week before
I agree that a full day would probably be too much for a first time out. Perhaps you do the morning to give him a feel for it then he does the afternoon? 2013 Discovery 4 HSE Lux | 2001 Defender 90 TD5 | 2007 Prodrive RB320
