LR diagnostics software

Presumably they have something more than an ODB2 code reader in LR garages? What though?
My 'garage' claims they don't have diagnostics for mr LR4 because it is ten years old! There must be something unless the people who threw together their car software were winging it..
I need to know to be able to counter the next round of BS I get from them

Do LR release software upgrades fr their cars and if so, how do you get them?

if you need in depth diagnostics you need to start education on CAN bus signals diagnostics with some free soft out there plus oscilloscope like PICO tech or similar or even better Macchina P1 if yo ucan get your hands on one

What doesn't it help with?
It is very comprehensive. You can also get module software updates from GAP at a small fee.

Landrover software is SDD, symtom driven diagnostics. Official route is subscription from Landrover. Outside the price of most non specialist garages let alone an individual.

Steve

GAP would tell you NOT to upd ECUs at first contact about flashes

I would aslo not recommend it as well seeing or having experience bricking a few fibre channel switches during flash at work due to various reasons Wink

Interesting, we reflash every day, with either iid or SDD. Occasionally it can go wrong, like any piece of software being updated.
Sometimes it is a matter of ‘if it ‘ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Other times there are some good glitch fixes, especially transmissions.

Also, I find iid is more robust at flashing than SDD. With Patrick (from GAP) even being able to help me recover a transmission that SDD bricked.. Thumbs Up
Regards
Steve
