LR Approved Extended Warranty a bit cheaper than I expected
Hmmm just got my renewal through, thought it was going to be about £1000, but its £780. Now I was going to not renew it but at that price I am thinking about it. I have a 2006 (56) HSE with 34500 miles on the clock. Last year the only repair was a replacement EGR valve.
Opinions?
Oh and the Select Warranty is being offered to me at £625

Hmmm, not a fan of Warranty Direct. Got a friend who had a massive fight with them after the dual mass flywheel failed in his Laguna. Just got a quote online - £1019!!
Have the say the service from LR when my EGR valve failed was superb.

the level of service from the LR warranty is normally dependant on your dealer, if they are good then normally it's worth having the LR one in my experience and theeeeennn......???

On that age & mileage combination & bearing in mind your single incident, why bother?
Running third year without warranty, as low mileage (40K) 05 reg 'S' with fewer toys to break.Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana

I have renewed mine with WarrantWise, but upgraded from Silver to Platinum with £100 p.h labour rates. Was alot cheaper than any others. Came to just under £500. However, £500 could be an expensive piece of paper if they can wriggle out..."...I'm so broke I can't even pay attention..."

Thats what worrys me with a 3rd party warranty. Pretty sure I will have no issues with the LR one as I had no problems at all with the EGR valve. Phoned up, dropped off the car, picked up next day all fixed. Quick photocopy of my Warranty was all that was needed. Interestingly I thought I got no paperwork after the repair - makes me think LR don't want 'broken parts' repair receipts cluttering up Service Historys.

If you're ready to buy now, WD are doing their Christmas Promotion... they called me to offer another 10% or so off the already-reduced quote I'd had a few weeks ago. I'm biding my time...____

In my case Warranty Direct did not phone (which I was waiting for) and offer to reduce the internet quoted figure (yes they did have the correct phone number).

I have my extended warranty with these chaps, and to be fair they paid up extremely quickly when I made a claim despite me only having the policy a few months.
All dealt with beforehand very professionally etc and very competitive at around £900 for 3 years which includes European breakdown cover.
I would say though that you may find the policy slightly restricting as to where you can take your car to be fixed as they don't pay for fault diagnosis and the labour rate they will pay is very low, so no main dealers unless you make up the difference.Welcome "Lola"

Trust me, LR warranty is no difference to any other, under written by an insurer and they will wiggle and squirm when they can. I had no problem on basic warranty items with mine, but i had £4k of incident in 2 months and they started to play hell. I am now with warranty direct. I dont think they will be any better, just dont think any worse. I got year top policy on RRS with main dealer rates for £43 a month. Did start at £80 though
