LR 5 Year Service Plan
Last week I purchased a new Disco from a main LR dealer. I say new… it had 25 delivery miles on it but was actually a pre-register on a 65 plate. That didn’t bother me because I’ll be putting my own plate on the car and it did result in a sizeable discount. The purchase was reasonably painless apart from the fact that it’s really difficult to get hold of sales people and they never return your calls.
One attractive aspect of the deal was a Land Rover 5x Service Plan. This is sold as a 5 year service plan but I was assured by the dealer that it was 5 services at any main dealer. He showed me the documentation that came with the car and luckily I took a copy to show SHMBO what a good deal I was getting! (I do around 25,000 miles per year so to be covered up to the 80,000 mile service was a nice sweetener. )
Imagine my surprise when yesterday the new documentation arrived through my door… It now seems to have a 50,000 mile cap on the deal. I’ve just rung EMac who run the scheme for Land Rover and they say there’s always a 50k limit on all the disco service plans. I pointed out that disco services are 16k apart so that limit means it’s only a 3 services deal (16k,32k,48k). She suggested I service my car every 10k so I get five services out of them - she also said the dealer shouldn’t have shown me that original document !!!
As you can imagine, I’m now a little angry and it feels like I was deliberately mislead by the dealer. I’ve rung back to ask for an explanation but predictably I can’t talk to anyone and they haven’t returned my call !!!
It’s not a huge amount of money… but I’m not sure how I should approach this going forward? Has anyone else come across this 50k limit on the services - and does that sound right being sold as 5 services when our cars are 16k apart?

I'm not saying it's not a good deal, I'd have probably gone for it anyway, it's just that it isn't the deal that was sold to me by the salesman. Nor is it the deal that the dealer got the documentation for on that car originally. pick up our new one on first august...6 months old and only 3100 miles....told there is a 50k ..5 year service plan comes with it....road tax now 290 quids......yet to see the paperwork

From memory, if your not happy, you can always get your money back on the servicing deal, so long as it's within 28 days of purchase.
Was aware of the five years, 50k service before I went to the dealers regarding getting mine, only found out it had the service deal with it when I tried to squeeze the dealer a bit more by asking for a couple of services thrown in only to be told as it was a pre reg it already had the five year 50k service deal.

I have this too and it was sold as 5 years servicing, wasn't until i got the paperwork i clocked the 50k limit. I was peeved and keep meaning to take it up with them, still a good deal but fact is I think there is a lot of miss selling going on with this product. Its used as a deal closer too I was told they weren't sure how long Landrover would keep the offer a clear attempt to get me to sign on the line for the car there and then.MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

I paid £499 for 5 year service package on DS but as the service is every 2 years I argued it's only 4 years but didn't get anywhere
I agree it's misleading but it includes adblue top ups for 5 years and as I've been paying around £500pa on RRS I decided it wasn't worth arguing about
There is option of higher mileage package on DS which gives 3 services instead of 2
