| Lower boot lid lock issues |

I found intermittent issues with the lock of the lower boot lid lately. Since there were no known problems with this one before in the archives, I would like to share my findings.
Sometimes it just would not open, as in no response from the button – this usually happened when I had to load heavy stuff in the back.  Then on occasions when the upper lid was open, the locks on the bottom lid was activated repeatedly – like the button was stuck.
This weekend I opened the covers to try and find the culprit. All wires seemed OK and only when I took the button off, I saw a blue corrosion at the pins between the connector and button. I’ve cleaned it all up with electric contact spray and so far haven’t had problems again. 
I also found that when the button is pushed in and kept in, the lock will only do a single release cycle – this meant that the repeated activations was caused by the lock contact been made and released continuously.  Proud owner of an IIDTool
