Low Volume on Aux

I have a roof mounted DVD fitted using the AUX channel for sound. Recently I lost all sound (radio, CD, Satnav etc.) and the dealer replaced the amp. Now sound is back but the volume on the aux channel seems lower than normal. If I put it up to 35 (the top) you can hear it well but not brilliantly at 70mph. The aux has always been at a lower volume (slightly) to the radio and CD. Switching from aux to radio now deafens everyone in the car! Also the rear speakers do not seem as powerful as those at the front. I don't remember it being this way before it went in for the new amp. Has anyone else experieced this?

I only have a base stereo but on aux I find it has lower volume, the PDA needs to be on full volume. The other thing I found was that I need to plug into the aux socket when the PDA is playing a track and the stereo is on and set to aux. Confused Then the stereo will play at a much louder volume, it apears to adust to the input level. Give it a try it might help.

It seems quite a few D3 owners have complained about the low volume on the aux. I tried your suggestion but I can't tell if it is any better because it is blowing a gale out there at the moment! I'll give it a go when it is quieter. Thanks for your reply anyway.

Items plugged into Aux. require their own amplification ....thats why for example the Belkin auto kit adapter has it's own built in amp Wink

European I pods are preset at lower max volume levels than elsewhere, so plugging them into the Aux input means that you have to max the aux voume control with the accompanying hiss. However, on the internet there is a downloadeable fix to de restrict ipod volumes levels, which I did a while back. In fact, there are several hacks, but try av forums for the up to date info.
